HM Cares: Supporting Our Healthcare Partners and the Community
Employee Name, Title: Danielle Romano,
Executive Assistant to CEO
Donation Recipient: Holy Name Medical Center, Teaneck, NJ
Danielle's Story: Danielle knew that as a company, Health Monitor Network (HM) wanted to do something to support healthcare workers during this challenging time, so she began researching how and where to secure face masks. One of HM’s Outside Sales representatives put her in touch with a New York contact who had access to an inventory of official KN95 face masks. Once she confirmed the inventory, she placed an order for 7,500 of the face masks with the intent to donate them to local hospitals and health systems in our community and potentially around the country. Danielle learned from a nurse friend that skin irritation from the face masks and frequent hand washing was also an issue that nurses and healthcare workers were facing. She then placed an order for Avon face and hand lotion to complement the face mask donation and provide additional care for those Frontline healthcare workers.
The first donation went to Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, NJ. One of Danielle’s best friends is a COVID-19 nurse there. She originally reached out to her friend to see if they could use any of the above donations. She said, “absolutely yes” and put Danielle in touch with Don and Linda who oversee the Supply Chain Department at Holy Name Medical Center. Once the masks and lotions were delivered, Danielle scheduled the drop-off with the hospital. Lois Schrumpf (HM Team Lead, Sales), who has worked closely with Holy Name Medical Center, and Rodnell Workman (HM Chief Marketing Officer) accompanied Danielle to drop off the donations. The donation included 1,000 masks, 300 hand lotions, 300 face lotions, and 35 large pump bottle lotions to put at each nurse’s station
Danielle has continued her efforts with a donation to Atlantic Health Systems for Morristown Medical Center, Overlook Medical Center, Hackettstown Medical Center, Newton Medical Center and Chilton Medical Center.
